Job Description

Primary Objective: The Accounts Receivable Specialist ensures customers are billed accurately and consistently throughout the company, providing training and reviewing daily invoicing.  The Accounts Receivable Specialist also leads the collection efforts by working with location staff and directly with customers to recover unpaid accounts.

Areas of Accountability:

The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.

  • Working with all IAS locations to administrate company credit policy.
  • Authorizes new customer credit with evaluation of credit reports and references within company guidelines.
  • Evaluates credit releases for customers with delinquent balances.
  • Effectively manage Accounts Receivable collections including legal processes.
  • Review customer invoicing for accuracy and completeness and identification of training needs.
  • Provide customer billing support and training for branch locations.
  • Review credit memos for accuracy, timeliness and appropriate approvals.
  • Administer the weekly and monthly ACH process including recording payments on customer accounts.
  • Process and record customer payments along with providing necessary documentation and communication.
  • Process new memberships along with equity and membership payouts.
  • Execute various monthly AR procedures including applying finance charges, creating and reviewing customer statements and various other tasks.
  • Assist Energy department with processing service tickets, driver settlements sheets, office foot traffic and other duties as assigned.
  • All other AR responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • AA with 2-3 years’ experience. Industry experience a plus.
  • Exhibits a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate information or ideas effectively in written or oral form.
  • Ability to multitask with excellent judgment, problem solving and research skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel and Word.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:

  • Requires static strength to lift, push, pull, or, on occasion, carry objects with a minimum weight of 50 pounds. Also, flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. Some tasks involve repetitive motion.
  • Agricultural Environment – Possible exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agriculture products.
