Department:    Off Premises                

Reports to:       Director of Event Services

                          OP Senior Banquet Captain

Job Summary: Oversees the setup, service and breakdown of Off Premises events.  The Banquet Captain ensures courteous and prompt service for all event functions according to established guidelines.  S/he assists in the recruitment and training of new associate.  S/he will work in any capacity on an event as business requires.  S/he must work closely with the Director of Event Services in promoting the Company’s culture, mission and philosophy.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in coaching & counseling and conducting performance evaluations of staff.
  • Assist in developing, training and mentoring staff and act as a resource to them.
  • Responsible for recommending or conducting disciplinary action, including termination, of Off premises Service Team as necessary according to HR company standards.
  • Assist in the monitoring of staffing levels to minimize cost and increase productivity. Recommend staffing needs according to business levels.
  • Assist in developing necessary training programs for the Off Premises Service Team.
  • Documenting all notable incidents at events accurately and in detail on the Event Report Sheet.
  • Inventory of rental equipment at start of event
  • Oversee the complete setup of Front-of-House and Back-of-House event space
  • Preside over pre-function meeting to review assignments.
  • Coordinate with client on the timing of the event.
  • Constantly monitor event to ensure quality of service.
  • Coordinate with Kitchen Staff as to the timing of the event for
  • Oversee and assist in all breakdown operations and ensure all rental equipment is properly stored.
  • Do walk-through of event space to ensure cleanliness.
  • Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
  • Perform all reasonable requests by the Management team.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
