Job Summary:              

The Pastry Cook is responsible for participating in Pastry production as well as working events and insuring that items produced are consistent with Abigail Kirsch’s high standards of quality.  The Pastry Cook must work closely with the Pastry Sous Chef in promoting the Company’s culture, mission and philosophy.

Skills & Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Check with the Pastry Sous Chef for daily objectives
  • Prepare items assigned within production for day’s events while maintaining sanitation and quality standards to include, but not limited to…
    • Cut pastry items
    • Preparing & Finishing pastry items
    • Make basic mousses/sauces/cakes/batters
    • Make/roll dough
    • Participate in group projects
    • Scoop ice cream
    • Cut Friandise
    • Dry fruits
    • Pack and label all pastry items
    • Plate out and tray ups
    • Scaling
  • Cleaning/Maintaining & Organizing bakeshop
  • Check off/Organize racks
  • Gather/Request all items needed for Pastry production
  • Prepare all desserts needed for Pastry production
  • Control waste
  • Work events as needed
  • Perform all reasonable requests by the management team
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
  • Know and follow all Abigail Kirsch/Tappan Hill emergency and safety procedures
  • Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
  • Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.
