Job Description/Position Overview:
The Corporate Manager’s goal is to secure revenue for Pier Sixty by booking events utilizing a variety of sales techniques and established booking guidelines. Their focus will be geared towards Social Sales but is developed to handle other Sales Focused Events. The Sales Manager should maintain positive client relationships, thus promoting future business for Pier Sixty in addition to other facilities/venues operated by Pier SIxty. S/he must work closely with the Director of Sales in promoting the Company’s culture, mission and philosophy.


  • 4+  years of experience in the food and beverage industry, ideally in banquet operations.
  • 4 – 5  years of specific corporate or social sales experience including extensive client interaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Hospitality or related fields preferred.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computers including using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and comfortable with meeting and talking to clients on the phone or in person.
  • Capable of managing many accounts and projects simultaneously.
  •  Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, guests, vendors and Associates.
  •  Must have a flexible work schedule and be able to accommodate work schedules based on   business needs.

Skills & Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Field inquiry phone calls for all types of events including , corporate, philanthropy, benefit, etc.
  • Pro-actively research, prospect and solicit new business.
  • Effectively manage assigned accounts including maintaining positive relationships as well securing additional businesses contacts.
  • Assist existing clients regarding contracts and event details.
  • Attend events as needed to ensure proper execution and maintain positive client relations.
  • Maintain up to date information regarding all potential bookings.
  • Prepare contracts and essential paperwork.
  • Prepare required reports as needed or directed by Director of Sales.
  • Work on specialty projects such as shopping competition and preparing revenue reports.
  • Attend functions as requested by senior management or when necessary for client relations.
  • Network with in the community to establish new relationships and maintain company visibility.
  • Be familiar with all properties/venues operated by Pier SIxty, refer clients as necessary to other venues based upon client needs and property availability.
  • Meet established sales quotas.
  • Conduct cold calling to secure new business or introduce potential clients to Pier SIxty.


  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform and complete all reasonable assignments as requested by management.
  • Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures.
  • Follow all sign in and out procedures for keys.
  • Know and follow all Pier Sixty emergency and safety procedures.
