Consumer Insights Analyst

Job Description

Based out of our Home Office in Greenwood Village, CO the Consumer Insights Analyst supports Brand Marketing Research, Operations Research and Testing, and is responsible for pulling, mining and analyzing data, generating ongoing and ad hoc reports and developing key findings. Oversees and manages consumer databases. Works independently and with several outside vendor partners.


  • Proactively develop and produce ongoing reports with key data and statistical analyses to support Consumer Tracking (biannual Technomic reports), Guest Voice performance (including weekly top/bottom 50) and Mystery Shops (on and off premise)
  • Independently design, execute and report “self-serve” studies using 3rd party tools (such as Survey Monkey and AYTM) as well as omnibus studies (such as You Gov)
  • Produce ad hoc reports upon request, leveraging both custom and 3rd party databases
  • Assist in data integration across multiple sources, providing a cohesive consumer story
  • Mine secondary sources for insights into consumer, business and environment trends, and to address ad hoc questions
  • Assist with execution of marketing research tests as needed
  • Assist with gathering and summarizing operator feedback
  • Respond to Service Now tickets and operator questions/requests for assistance for Guest Voice and Mystery Shops
  • Keep research vendors informed about Red Robin promotional calendar, new products, restaurant alignment changes and other information needed to keep databases accurate and updated
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


  • College degree; business, marketing, math/statistics, or marketing research, preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in marketing research, business or other analytical field, required
  • Restaurant industry experience, preferred
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods, required 


  • Able to work with and interpret large amounts of data, and to illustrate data graphically
  • Able to  provide and clearly explain statistical analyses and the “story” behind the data
  • Proactive in analyzing data and looking for answers, not just an “order taker”
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
  • Proficient with statistical packages such as SPSS or SAS or similar
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative thinker, open to and able to generate new ideas
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Flexible and adaptable
