Flagging Supervisor



The Supervisor is responsible for quality control in the field.  This person will ensure proper work zone setup and operations including condition of equipment, presentation of flaggers, and overall control of the zone.




  • Act as a leader and role model for all flagging crews
  • Build and maintain relationships with client, agency officials and crew members
  • Participate and contribute in weekly supervisor meetings
  • Identify potential issues in the road, and work with management to address and resolve
  • Manage crew member performance including written and verbal warnings
  • Acknowledge positive contributions from crew members
  • Become a company expert on the standard operating procedures (SOP) of all jobs and be able to clearly explain them to Flaggers
  • Proactively offer suggestions on how to improve upon current systems and procedures
  • Understand and be able to clearly explain company policies and procedures
  • Exhibit professional communication and behavior at all times
  • Manage team – texting schedule/making changes
  • Train to teach the ATSSA certification class and other required trainings
  • Cover emergency calls and shifts as needed
  • Be available for your team and crews via phone/text at all times




  • Minimum 2 years’ experience flagging
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (email/calendar/word/excel/PPT)
  • ATSSA certification
  • Completed Crew Leader 1 and 2 Training 
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn every work zone setup as required by MUTCS
  • Must possess current and valid driver’s license and pass MVR check
  • OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid Certified
  • Must have taken or be willing to take the Defensive Driving course given by Project Road safe
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours
  • Must be 18 years of age
