Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

Based at our Nashville Support Center, you will design, develop and deliver training solutions that cover a wide array of restaurant operations, including menu specifications, recipes crew and manager training programs for O’Charley’s. 

 You will need to support development and implementation of assessment strategies to ensure outcome-based training initiatives, facilitate training and ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions for restaurant and corporate staff and develop content for the learning management system for O’Charley’s restaurants including maintenance, uploading of content, training assignment, curriculum builds, and reporting functionality. 

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Develop various training tools and job aids, including e-learning modules, written materials, communication memos, visual aids, learning activities and leader guides.
  • Maintain and develops course templates, models, standards and procedures.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Culinary, Operations and other functions to ensure training aids are accurate and delivered on-time in the appropriate format.
  • Develop and maintain all restaurant training support materials.
  • Ensure O’Charley’s concept Intranet is up-to-date with current training materials and information.
  • Apply best practices and expertise in instructional design and adult learning theory to the development of learning programs that support restaurant success measures.
  • Lead and execute a variety of projects, priorities and job functions using project management programs and tools.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with outside vendors.
  • Collaborate with team members to create online learning systems and courseware using appropriate eLearning software and other associated programs.
  • Maintain open communication with operations teams and provide support for issues that relate to training and development
  • Audit compliance training, monitor trends, and provide consolidated reports to business leaders.
  • Perform other assigned projects and duties.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and maintain a professional and positive customer service orientation; interpret a variety of technical or programming instructions and deal with several variables.
  • Utilize creative thinking and problem-solving techniques, critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal mediums and in training presentations; strong attention to grammar and context In written materials
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing assignments and demands; perform multiple tasks, work with constant interruptions and under sensitive time lines.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and principles and industry-standard course management systems.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong platform and group facilitation skills.
  • Possess an intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office products used for developing instructional courseware (e.g., Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System administration and authoring tools such as StoryLine. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in related field is required.
  • Minimum 7 years in training, instruction, adult education. Prefer experience in supervision or management.
  • Minimum two years of restaurant or retail management experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance
  • Travel as required
