USHG is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer

Founded by CEO Danny Meyer with the opening of Union Square Cafe in 1985, Union Square Hospitality Group has created some of New York’s most beloved restaurants, cafes, and bars such as Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, The Modern, Marta and Porchlight to name a few!

An integral member of the USHG Leadership team, this position must lead, inspire and embody our Family Values and our philosophy of Enlightened Hospitality in all interactions with our people, guests, vendors and the community. He/She will drive a data-driven marketing roadmap for USHG and implement strategies to drive an emotional connection with current and prospective guests and employees in order to improve covers and same restaurant sales.

  • Build, lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing and super creative marketing team who exemplify our Family Values while in alignment with our Diversity and Inclusion goals
  • Define and implement a holistic customer data strategy
  • Partner with CEO and creative agencies to define brand guidelines across all guest touch points
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to drive brand awareness and new guest acquisition that reflects a strong understanding of our brand, customer and business needs
  • Implement data-driven and innovative marketing campaigns to effectively build emotional connections with current and prospective guests and employees and achieve USHG business goals

  • 10+ years of running and scaling successful businesses
  • 15+ years of work experience across diverse marketing and creative functions. B2C experience a must
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters degree
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in marketing with at least 7 years in management positions
  • A natural knack for knowing what consumers want, and a love for stitching a story together across brand touch points
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully building a brand, working cross-functionally across business units to execute and achieve results
  • Experience managing a budget, and working across channels to set and report on KPIs
  • Ability to impact the short-term while simultaneously developing long-term vision and goals
  • Travel required
  • English fluency and Spanish preferred
