Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Staff Accountant - AP to join the team!


Founded by CEO Danny Meyer with the opening of Union Square Cafe in 1985, Union Square Hospitality Group has created some of New York’s most beloved restaurants, cafes, and bars such as Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, The Modern, Marta and Porchlight to name a few!

The Staff Accountant - AP will work within USHG’s centralized AP Team and perform daily and weekly Accounts Payable tasks in order to support the team and drive it toward ongoing success. This individual will work closely with our operations teams as well as our Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, results-oriented, and extremely detail-oriented. The ability to self-start and meet daily and weekly deadlines is desired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the AP Team to process invoices into our accounting system for multiple businesses on a weekly basis
  • Creating and maintaining vendor relationships with integrity and excellence
  • Working closely with operators to resolve ad hoc issues, such as COD or credit holds
  • With the cash-flow guidance of Accounting Managers, executing weekly check printing process
  • Reconciling vendor statements during the month-end process to ensure that all known invoices have been expensed properly
  • Collaborating with our Finance & Accounting Team and Associate Director of Procurement in order to run necessary spending reports and analyzing related data

  • Bachelor's degree required, Accounting or Finance degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Accounts Payable experience required, restaurant industry experience preferred
  • Passion for excellence and attention to detail
  • Sage 100, Plate IQ and Microsoft Excel knowledge a plus
