Union Square Events (USE) is the catering and venue hospitality business from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG). Based in Manhattan's Hudson Yards, USE creates experiences to savor that are rooted in USHG's 30-year heritage of culinary excellence and Enlightened Hospitality. The primary objective of the USE Senior Director of Operations “SRDO” is to lead, manage, and oversee ALL operations for Union Square Events.  The position is responsible for overall financial results, as well as the execution of total revenue, people strategies, and EBITDA within USE. The Director should strengthen the consistency of USE “management walking the talk” through further investment in strategies for recruiting to increase the quality, quantity and diversity of candidates hired to the team, The SRDO is also integral to collaborations with the USE Division President continually refine and adapt USE Strategic Growth Plans and New Business Ventures.

Key Responsibilities (More details here)

  • Establish and execute clear profitability and performance goals and metrics for core businesses within USE
  • Ensure USE brands are strong and compelling to all stakeholders, specifically employees (HR)
  • Continue to redefine and establish peerless SOP’s as it relates to ALL operations
  • Guarantee rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures
  • Continuously build a high-performance team across all USE brands to deliver uncommon hospitality and excellence to their guests

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters degree
  • 15+ years of leadership experience with at least 7 years in management positions
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating across all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing breakthrough ideas
  • Wine, Beer and Spirits knowledge
  • Sound understanding of diverse cuisine and beverage
  • Strong understanding of Service and Operations as it pertains to Catering
  • Solid understanding of off-premise event logistics and requirements
  • 7+ Years Warehouse Management experience
  • 5+ Years Catering Management
  • Previous Management experience in large scale, fast-paced environments
