POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting and Finance Department through the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records and reports. This position assists with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, process improvement initiatives, and other accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Accountant works collaboratively with internal departments and management to support business objectives and maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other financial records.
  • Analyze accruals, account balances, transactions, and financial data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for management review.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Associate degree with relevant accounting experience may be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Relocation to Eau Claire, WI is required
