Heavy Equipment Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Heavy Equipment Manager to support our expanding warehouse and operational footprint. This role is responsible for end-to-end management of the corporate equipment fleet, support fleet, and yard storage operations, from acquisition through disposal. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, sound business judgment, and a passion for asset management and continuous improvement. This position offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to work closely with a tight-knit, collaborative team in a fast-growing organization.

Preferred candidates should have at least five years of experience in equipment management or experience in the automotive, construction, or equipment industries, strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of vehicle and equipment maintenance, and demonstrated business acumen related to asset management and cost control. Experience managing budgets, vendors, and capital equipment, strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing from purchase to disposal, in conjunction with the Director, the following subdivisions: Heavy equipment, Survey equipment, Branded inventory items, and Trucking.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve procedures and tasks to create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profits for the company.
  • Maintain professionalism when dealing with customers, vendors, and staff.
  • Financial oversight for the budget relating to managed subdivisions.
  • Stay educated and current with technology and trends related to the position.
  • Analyze and monitor heavy equipment economic life cycle to maximize ROI.
  • Compliance and recordkeeping for State and Federal requirements.
  • Work with project teams throughout the entire life cycle of the project to determine the right solution for heavy equipment needs.
  • Monitor heavy equipment and long-term rentals on project sites to ensure it continues to be the best solution for the company.
  • Search, analyze, and negotiate the best solutions for the company in all financial transactions.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage procurement and dispositions.
  • Quote and invoice projects.
  • Order, ship, and maintain branded inventory items.
  • Dispatch ECE trucking or arrange third-party transport.
  • Manage the Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Cross-train to support Equipment Manager duties as needed.

This position offers a pay range of $75,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience, along with an extensive benefits package that includes company stock and a profit-sharing bonus.
