Construction CTE Co-Op Internship
Company: PC Construction
Location: Various Project Sites in Vermont & Maine
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Around High School CTE Scheduling
Compensation: $20-$22/hour + Eligible for High School CTE/Co-Op Credit
As part of our self-perform team, you'll work across a range of projects, including renovations, new construction, heavy civil work, and industrial upgrades, all backed by a safety culture and record that are among the best in the industry. The scope changes from job to job, so you'll build experience across multiple trades rather than repeating the same task on every project.
Through our partnerships with local Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, students gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced craft professionals, and learn what a career in the construction industry can look like. We are committed to helping develop the next generation of skilled trades professionals by providing meaningful opportunities in a safe and supportive work environment.
This is more than a job shadowing experience. As a CTE Co-Op Intern, you will work alongside experienced construction professionals, gain real-world jobsite experience, and explore rewarding career opportunities within the construction industry.
Position Overview
PC Construction is seeking motivated high school students who are currently enrolled in a Construction, Building Trades, or CTE program. This position is designed to support your school's work-based learning requirements while providing valuable field experience, professional mentorship, and paid employment during the school year or summer months.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of experienced construction professionals, you will assist with general carpentry, material handling, site organization, and other construction-related activities. You'll gain exposure to construction drawings, jobsite operations, hand and power tools, safety procedures, and project coordination while working alongside craftspeople, foremen, and project teams on active construction sites.
Learning Opportunities
Through this internship, you will develop practical construction skills, learn industry safety standards, strengthen communication and teamwork abilities, and gain a better understanding of career opportunities within the construction industry. You will also acquire valuable field experience that may support future employment, apprenticeships, certifications, or continued education in the trades.
Qualifications
Applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors enrolled in an approved Construction, Building Trades, or CTE program, or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in construction. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely in an active construction environment. Reliable transportation and appropriate work boots are required.
