Job Description

South Street Partners is searching for an experienced Executive Assistant for the South Street Partners Office in Charleston, SC.

This position will provide administrative and operational support to a Charleston-based Partner. This role will often be the first point of contact for people trying to reach the Partner, and it is expected that this person be discreet and trustworthy given the information they will be privy to. A confidentiality agreement will be required as part of the role. This position will report directly to the Partner and will be responsible for handling all aspects of personal and work schedules, managing emails, helping with travel, and other similar tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, discreet, organized, and possesses the ability to work with all levels of management as well as outside investors, partners and other high level third parties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Communication: Ensure that the Partner is aware and prepared for meetings and calls in the coming days and/or weeks. They may also be asked to send reports, emails, agendas, and take meeting minutes.
  • Scheduling: Manage work and personal calendars, appointments, and meetings, often across multiple time zones. They may also arrange logistics for business meetings and meals. A component of scheduling will require prioritization, tactful gatekeeping skills, and professional communication with outside parties.
  • Research: Conduct research for the Partners.
  • Organization: Organize documents and briefing packs to ensure the Partners have relevant materials before meetings or trips.
  • Investor Outreach: Handle dissemination of investor communications including but not limited to K-1s as well as quarterly and annual investor reports. A large part of this will involve maintaining an investor database with sensitive personal information.
  • Event Planning: Assist with the South Street Partners annual investor meeting as well as other internal and external off-sites and in-offices events including holiday parties throughout the year
  • Concierge services: From time to time this employee may be asked to assist with outside needs, such as mailing a check, collecting partner K-1s or booking a doctor’s appointment.

 

Skills & Requirements

Requirements for the position include:

  • At least 5-7 years of administrative experience
  • Preferably real estate and/or legal experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
