Job Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and pitches to win new projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project transitions from business development to execution.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including pipeline development, conversion rates, and revenue targets.
  • Actively network with industry professionals and participate in related committees and organizations.
  • Manage the client presentation process closely with marketing, pre-construction, and operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate contact information and detailed client relationship interaction through CRM.
  • Regional and occasional outside region travel required. 
  • Organize, attend, and contribute to meetings with internal teams, as well as clients, developers, and A/Es to ensure alignment and responsiveness.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development/Project Development for a Construction Management/General Contracting firm. 
  • Experience working with various construction projects and contract types, including Lump Sum, Design Build, and Construction Management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective listening skills to build and maintain rapport with internal and external clients.
  • Clear and concise communication of thoughts, ideas, recommendations, and technical information.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal team members, including Marketing, Estimating, and Production.
