At IMC Construction, our Field Operations Interns play a vital role in supporting project teams on active jobsites while gaining hands-on experience in the day-to-day execution of construction projects. Working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership, this position provides exposure to project planning, quality control, safety, scheduling, logistics, and subcontractor coordination. 
 
We're looking for a motivated student who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and is eager to learn how successful projects are built from the ground up. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical construction knowledge, strengthen leadership skills, and gain valuable field experience while contributing to real project outcomes. 

What You'll Do 

Support Quality Control Assist the project team in identifying, tracking, and resolving field quality control issues while helping ensure work meets IMC standards. 

Coordinate Materials & Deliveries Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to help expedite material deliveries and keep projects moving efficiently. 

Assist with Scheduling Support short-range scheduling efforts by confirming manpower levels, material deliveries, and supplier availability. 

Track Field Costs & Changes Assist with monitoring work orders, change requests, and project events that may impact cost or performance. 

Support Daily Project Operations Work alongside field leadership on reports, site walks, quantity tracking, and schedule updates. 

Facilitate Communication Assist with subcontractor communications and coordination of upcoming responsibilities. 

Promote Safety Excellence Support project safety programs, inspections, reporting efforts, and compliance requirements. 

Support Site Logistics Assist in developing and maintaining site logistics and temporary facilities plans. 

Monitor Project Reporting Help maintain project controls through documentation, photos, reports, and project records. 

Maintain Site Standards Support quality assurance initiatives and promote a clean, organized jobsite. 

Support Risk & Compliance Management Assist with CCIP compliance, inspections, and incident reporting requirements. 

Skills & Requirements

  • Current student enrolled in a college, university, or technical school pursuing a construction-related degree or certification 

  • Strong interest in commercial construction and field operations 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams and trade partners 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Proficiency with computer applications and willingness to learn construction management software and technology 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced jobsite environment 

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally 

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence 

  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork
