Engineering Data Administrator - Temporary Role

Job Description

Amerlux, a leader in architectural lighting, designs and manufacturing of innovative interior and exterior lighting solutions for commercial, retail and supermarket sectors is looking for a Engineering Data Administrator to join our team in our Oakland NJ facility. This position is a temporary full-time role, that could lead to a permanent position.  This position requires being on-site five days per week. 

The Engineering Data Administrator will be responsible for receiving, logging, distributing and follow up on BOM (Bill of Materials) requests in a fast paced enviroment. Key responsible include the entering and retrieving of data from our ERP System, Oracle. The position requires the ability to work in a deadline driven environment, demonstrate a high level of initiative, and utilize strong problem solving skills.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain part numbers and bill of materials (BOM) in Oracle. Input new products lines into CPQ, Oracle and Access.
  • Run daily and weekly reports within Oracle and review information.
  • Work within the Quotes Price Configure system (CPQ) to maintain data integrity.
  • Update and maintain daily request information and follow up on requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist Engineers with submitting and processing all engineering change requests (ECRs).
  • Communicate changes throughout the organization.
  • Work with Engineers to create models and configurators for customer support to use.
  • Maintain/update bill of material (BOM) status for jobs on Smartsheets spreadsheets.
  • Process finished good BOM requests from Forecasting, Marketing, Customer Support and Warranty departments.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management.
Qualifications:
 
  • Associate Degree or BA in Business Administration or Computer Science.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365. Advanced skill level in Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to proactive engage and collaborate with Customer Support, Quotations and Engineering Departments.
  • Must be disciplined and enjoy working in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently while multitasking effectively.
  • Proven problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed assigned tasks.
  • Willing to learn the company's lighting products.
  • Experience in manufacturing ERP system (Oracle or SAP).

Amerlux's office hours are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday - Thursday and 8:30 to 3:30 Fridays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This is an on-site position.

This is an hourly role that pays $25 per hour based on experience.  There are no benefits currently with this position.
