Job Description

JEVS Human Services currently has an exciting opportunity as an Employment Advisor for our The Choice is Yours program.  The Choice is Yours (TCY) is an innovative program for first-time, nonviolent felony drug offenders facing one to two year prison sentences.  Upon successful completion, the program offers graduates the opportunity to have their criminal records expunged, removing the stigma of a criminal record.

Job Duties:

  • Provide case management to clients in the program that emphasizes education and employment; perform home visits and work site visits when necessary. 
  • Develop, prepare and utilize the Individual Life Plan (ILP); provide regular, ongoing individual counseling to address barriers, encourage achievement of goals and ensure retention of clients.
  • Match and link clients to the best and most appropriate employment opportunity.
  • Perform outreach to special needs clients and encourage participation.
  • Assist with additional instructor responsibilities including, but not limited to, facilitating orientation and job readiness group sessions as needed
     
Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of human service/case management experience required.
  • Ability to problem solve and collaborate with a variety of customers in the Welfare to Work Industry, specifically individuals with a criminal background.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (especially MS Word and Excel).  
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and Saturdays.
  • Some inner city travel required; car preferred.

The base pay for this position ranges from $25,000 to $47,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience.  Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
