Senior Manager of TANF Program

Job Description

JEVS Human Services has an exciting new opening within CareerLink as an Senior Manager of TANF Services. This role is located within our Suburban Station office. 

General Responsibilities:

  •  Maintain a working knowledge of TANF and the PA Department of Human Services regulations
  • Network and establish working relationships with appropriate personnel at the County Assistance Offices, Community Agencies, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Organizations and other agencies as needed
  • Participate in Team Lead/supervisory meetings, unit meetings and division meetings on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate regularly and collaborate with Site Administrator and other unit Manager/Directors
  • Ensure effective, accurate and coordinated communication with County Assistance Office personnel

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the team members by directing the day-to-day work including hired contractor staff.
  • Ensure and monitor team’s compliance with specific regulations and requirements and provide ongoing coaching to improve the team’s individual and collective performance.
  • Ensure that performance standards, contract goals and services including Activity Compliance Rate, Job Placement, Retention and Increased Hours Worked goals are met and/or exceeded
  • Host and coordinate Retention Night events.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching and counseling to assigned staff, and an improvement plan when needed.
  • Supervise staff in office and remote.
  • Facilitate and create CAO Cluster meeting and agenda.
  • Become familiar with all TANF/DHS and SNAP regulations affecting EARN participants. Interface with Suburban’s data team and Philadelphia Works Inc (PWI) regarding audits and monitoring visits.
  • Oversee the service provided by staff and coordinate services with Employment Services and ETC Coordinator.
  • Ensure timely data entry of teams’ service into the JEVS and Funders’ databases.
  • Adhere to JEVS Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years management experience
  •  3 years supervisory experience preferred
  •  Experience working with and placing hard to serve populations
  •  Proficient in MS Office applications (especially MS Word and Excel
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

 

 

The base pay for this position ranges from $79,000 to $94,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience.  Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
