Job Description

Currently we have an exciting opportunity as a Workforce Advisor.  As the Workforce Advisor, you will assist participants in becoming job-ready. Additionally, you will assist participants with accessing resources in the community.

This role is on-site in our Center City Philadelphia office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of TANF and the PA Department of Human Services regulations.

  • Network and establish working relationships with appropriate personnel at the County Assistance Offices, Community Agencies, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Organizations and other agencies as needed.

  • Participate in Team Lead/supervisory meetings, unit meetings and division meetings on an ongoing basis.

  • Participate in additional programmatic and agency‐wide activities as assigned.

 

Program Specific:

  • Provide excellent, prompt, and staff assisted customer service to customers referred to and served by their program
  • Work with the Integrated Job Development Team and its job developers to transition customers to appropriate employment within identifiable time period.
  • Assist all Center customers in any of the welcome, skills and employment functions and exhibit flexibility as they are arranged by Team Leaders/Supervisors to confirm a smooth customer flow.
  • Contribute to meeting Center wide and program specific performance metrics and success indicators, including Activity Compliance Rate (ACR), Placements and Increased Hours Worked.
  • Discuss pre‐employment requirements for all positions with participants for job search and or current openings.
  • Review customer files for accuracy and compliance on a weekly basis, ensuring all required documents are up to date and in the file (i.e. Case notes and required signatures)
  • Develop customized job search plan for each job seeker assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of human service/ case management experience preferred; Appropriate experience or special training may be substituted in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate with a variety of customers including but not limited to the Workforce Initiatives industry.

Proficient in MS Office applications (especially MS Word and Excel).

Willingness to learn JEVS specific database(s) and other data bases as required

Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays.

 

 

The base pay for this position ranges from $44,000 to $48,500 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience.  Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
