Job Description

START (Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment) employs a positive approach to build upon an individual’s strengths to fortify experiences, ambition, character, and abilities. These services promote person-centered approaches and training for persons, families, and caregivers using positive approaches and other therapeutic tools.

The Associate Clinical Director provides clinical oversight, supervision, and consultation to the clinical team and therapeutic support services. This role supports the Clinical Director in ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs.

The Associate Clinical Director assists with clinical leadership, staff development, community consultation, and system capacity-building efforts, and provides back-up on-call support as needed.

 

Responsibilities: 

Clinical Supervision & Program Support

  • Provide clinical supervision to Clinical Team Leads, Therapeutic Coach Team Leads, and/or Clinical Coordinators, as assigned
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group clinical supervision meetings
  • Support the Clinical Director in promoting clinical excellence and adherence to best practices
  • Take an active clinical leadership role in team meetings
  • Provide back-up supervision coverage as needed

Internal Team Clinical Consultation

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Medical Director to provide regular clinical consultation on individuals with complex presentations
  • Support Team Leads and Coordinators in reviewing records and interpreting psychological evaluations and reports
  • Provide consultation regarding positive support plans and interaction strategies
  • Review START-related documentation and provide clinical input and feedback
  • Delivering trainings on clinical topics to staff to strengthen internal capacity
  • Assist START Coordinators in preparation for START Coordinator certification

Therapeutic Supports

  • Develop trauma-informed positive support and interaction plans for individuals requiring intensive therapeutic support.
  • Participate in discussions regarding potential resource center admissions
  • Provide on-site observation and clinical consultation for individuals receiving therapeutic support.
  • Support staff in implementing safety measures and behavioral interventions

Community Engagement and System Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Director and Clinical Director to strengthen community relationships and service linkages
  • Support Coordinators in community-based team meetings and systems collaboration
  • Provide consultation and training to families, providers, and community partners
  • Assist in planning and facilitating Clinical Education Team meetings

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Support oversight of documentation quality and compliance within the START Information Reporting System
  • Monitor and ensure timely and accurate data entry by assigned team members
  • Utilize data to inform clinical and programmatic decision-making
  • Assist the Clinical Director in maintaining program standards, policies, and clinical integrity

 

Skills & Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling or other human service field.
  • Significant experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring behavioral health needs
  • Experience developing and implementing positive behavior support plans strongly preferred
  • Certified START Coordinator or ability to complete the START Coordinator certification process within 6–12 months of hire
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision and consultation
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports

The base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 - $88,000 annually. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
