Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Game Day Communications Staff will assist the communications department with all media-related activities. This position will give hands-on experience in many facets of the public relations field.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

  • Learn to plan and execute game-day activities, including production and distribution of press credentials, coordination of appropriate sign-in for press meals, assistance with press area operations during games, and the recording and transcribing of postgame press conferences
  • Coordinate the setup and breakdown of media seating, media room, and any PR related materials to ensure a seamless game day
  • Ensure timely distribution of game notes to TV and radio members ahead of tip-off
  • Print and distribute real-time statistical reports to home and visiting teams, and the score table at designated game times
  • Complete opponent research and connection summaries, which will be used in game notes for future matchups
  • Support media members by addressing questions and concerns while ensuring effective communication
  • Provide support on the 76ers media guide, including player biographies and career-high charts
  • Help keep storage areas and the media room organized before, during, and after each game
  • Perform all other objectives, projects, and responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College seniors, recent graduates, or equivalent experience 
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, a customer-first attitude, enthusiasm, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong typing skills, required to transcribe press conferences and interviews
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work all home games, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  • NBA knowledge preferred

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Environment: This position requires that work be performed from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed based on game schedule. 
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to move for an entire shift (approximately 10-12 hours)

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $15.92/hour. This position is eligible for overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. 

This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
