Job Description

The Ankeny Inpatient Nursing department is seeking a full-time Person Served Transporter to join their team! This position is a crucial part of the transdisciplinary team of experts helping persons served in the rehabilitation process.

The full-time Person Served Transporter primarily works varied weekday hours between 6:00am-6:00pm based on person served transport needs, supporting our Inpatient program. On rare occasions, out of town appointments may require hours outside of 6:00am-6:00pm. There are no routine weekend or holiday expectations. You will have a general idea of your schedule each week, but some flexibility is required for last-minute changes. An active CNA license is preferred for this position.

Our Person Served Transporter positions start at $18/hour for minimal experience. We pay a 9% differential on your experienced-based wage for all hours worked between 2:00pm-10:00pm, and 11% differential for all hours worked between 10:00pm-6:00am. We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and we are also a qualified not-for-profit employer for the federal Public Student Loan Forgiveness program.

What do our Person Served Transporters do?

  • Ensures an efficient and effective rehabilitation process through timely, supportive, safe and friendly non-emergency transport of persons served and equipment to and from the facility for outing, appointments, and other person-served or organizational purposes.
  • Plans around various schedules, assisting persons served in and out of vehicles, including lifts/transfers and the use of various safety/security apparatus, and coordinating with other rehabilitation team members. 
  • When not driving/transporting, this position also assists with various duties within the Nursing department. These duties can include but are not limited to: direct care (i.e. meal assistance), scheduling appointments, stocking rooms, managing incoming faxes, and unloading supplies.
