Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO THE BELOW:

  • Prior to games, ensure that home and visiting benches, as well as home locker room, visiting locker room and referee locker room, are fully prepared, stocked, and organized.
  • Meet visiting team’s bus upon arrival, assisting with unloading (pre-game) and re-loading (post-game), as well as any other needs for the visiting Equipment Managers.
  • Assist players from both teams with their pre-game warmups, including, but not limited to, rebounding and passing for them.
  • Assist Coaching, Athlete Care, and other members of the Operations staff with any add on requests that arise before or during games.
  • While stationed courtside during games, remain alert and ready to quickly wipe away any wet spots on the court.
  • Ensure that all players receive towels, water, warmups, and/or any other individually requested items when returning to the bench following substitutions or timeouts.
  • Prepare all locker rooms for halftime and post-game team needs.
  • Rotate with other Equipment Operations Staff in and out of laundry room throughout the game to load towels into the washer and dryer, flipping loads as needed, and folding towels to be delivered to the court, bathrooms, etc.
  • Assist with clean-up of benches and locker rooms following games and return all game day equipment to its proper storage area.
  • As needed, and as schedules permit, assist with the following: ensuring the courts are ready for any player needs, laundry services, organization and setup of player, coach, and staff locker rooms, and assisting with any on-court player requests during workouts/practice.
  • As needed, and as schedules permit, assist with visiting and home team practices either at the Xfinity Mobile Arena or specified alternative practice court.
  • Work closely with the Head Manager of Equipment Operations, & Coordinator of Equipment Operations as well as a team of fellow Equipment Operations Staff, to effectively and efficiently complete all responsibilities.
  • Seek out opportunities to proactively assist the team in this role by anticipating potential player/staff needs and working with the game night basketball operations team to ensure that these needs are met.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Required to be available to attend 90% of the home games
  • Must be a hard-working, detail-oriented, organized team player who can multi-task, prioritize work activities, and use time efficiently
  • Must possess great communication skills
  • Present self in a professional manner and takes a professional approach to working with players, coaches, and other members of the organization
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to listen to others, anticipate team needs, and an eagerness to learn on the job
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliably maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Willingness and ability to carry team equipment as needed
  • Adaptability and flexibility – adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to handle frequent changes
  • Ability to work irregular hours and weekends

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Environment: This position requires that work be performed from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to move throughout the Xfinity Mobile Arena; assist with pre-game warmups; react quickly to cleaning needs while working courtside; move up to 45 pounds; and interact with players, coaches, staff, and fans. 

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $15.92/hour. This position will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
