What You Will Do:
This maintenance technician is responsible for providing manufacturing operations with the required support relative to machine repair, preventative maintenance, installation, and continuous improvement.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing manufacturing operations with the required support relative to machine repair, preventative maintenance, installation and continuous improvement.
- Checks the operation of machines and trouble-shoots electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, equipment and automation problems.
- Performs complex preventative and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment using various tools and equipment.
- Trouble-shoots electrical and electronic controls on manufacturing equipment for rebuilding, repairing or fabricating purposes.
- Modifies and rebuilds manufacturing equipment to meet new machine requirements or production demands with engineering support. Provides input to proposed manufacturing equipment. Installs capital equipment.
- Understands and interprets electronic schematics for trouble-shooting electronic equipment with minimal assistance.
- Maintains work orders on a daily and weekly basis. Documents all machine preventative, predictive and/or maintenance repairs clearly and concisely for historical and future maintenance purposes.
- Service level skills in MIG and/or TIG welding.
- Repair broken components where factors such as position or load may impact the repair, such as motor mounting plates or conveyor legs.
- Use vertical mill/drill and other machining tool
- Ability to utilize the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to enter and retrieve prescribed data
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of CNC machine tools including but not limited to vertical machining centers, horizontal machine centers, saws, Tube Laser, mechanical & progressive die press, etc.
- Complex skills required in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or PLC/controls failures
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have electrical experience.
- Certifications and/or licenses required- Such as: Electrician License, Engineering, Fabrication Certificate or License, Electromechanical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, or Plumbing
- Trouble shooting skills for mechanical, electrical Hydraulic and pneumatic systems and ability to learn new skills.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical/Electrical components
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, work well under tight deadlines.
- Some experience with programming of machines i.e.: CNC programs, PLC etc.
- Advanced Electrical Skills
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Walking:
- Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
- Lifting and Carrying:
- Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
- Pushing and Pulling:
- Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
- Repetitive Motions:
- Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
- Manual Dexterity:
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
- Climbing:
- Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
- Visual and Hearing Requirements:
- Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
- Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
- Environmental Tolerance:
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
- Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
