What will you be doing?
As a Mgr/Director of Acquisitions on the Growth team you will lead M&A work with a lean, high-impact team originating, evaluating and executing acquisitions of early education centers.  You will lead the whole lifecycle of the deal with core responsibility for origination, the financial analysis of a transaction, due diligence, and close.

Working closely with the entire Growth team including , financial analysts, real estate, and internal stakeholders, this position helps bring structure, accuracy, and consistency to a growing pipeline of M&A projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for all aspects of the M&A transaction from initial sourcing, account management, negotiations, internal financial diligence, due diligence, coordination with operations, and close

·         Build and maintain a strong network of brokers in your area as a primary source of origination

·         Build a strong organic outbound marketing program driving quality inbound leads from non-broker sources

·         Own the compilation of board-level presentation decks and supporting materials

·         Effectively negotiate with brokers, attorneys, landlords/sellers to develop IOI’s letters of intent, and related M&A documents

·         Identifying and tracking of acquisition targets through research, analysis, and other methods inclusive of helping build and maintain a CRM platform and associated outbound marketing and outreach 

·         Be a strong collaborator and leadership contributor to the financial analysis and modeling of each transaction

·         Conduct market research for acquisitions, including demographics and competitor analysis while monitoring existing markets to understand evolving trends

·         Supporting workstream management by liaising with lawyers, consultants, accountants, and other external professionals

·         Prepare reports, trackers, summaries, and other documentation to support development activity

·         Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support project progress and information flow

 

Education & Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field

·         4+ years of relevant experience (either from accountancy, corporate finance/M&A roles or strategy-related roles)

·         Early Childhood Education experience strongly preferred.

·         5+ years’ experience in real estate site selection, negotiation and closing transaction required.

·         Deep familiarity with real estate and financial models is an asset

 

Skills & Competencies

·         Excellent financial modeling skills with a high degree of accuracy

·         Working knowledge of accounting principles, both US and Canada

·         CFA, CA, CBV designation an asset

·         Strong analytical skills and business acumen

·         Proficiency with common software packages (MS Office, QuickBooks, NetSuite, mapping software, market data, etc.)

·         Excellent oral communication. A clear and concise writer

·         Interacts professionally and amicably with vendors, team members and other professionals

·         Excellent customer service mentality

·         Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

·         Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

·         Comfortable working with financial, numerical, and research-based data

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to work effectively within project tracking, reporting, and document management systems

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively
