Job Description

Manager, Business Enablement

Position Overview

The Manager, Business Enablement is a hands-on, cross-functional business partner who translates organizational priorities and operational needs into practical solutions, improved processes, clear business requirements, and coordinated implementation plans.

Operating within the Organizational Alignment function, this role connects Operations, business stakeholders, technology teams, and support functions to improve how work gets done and enable consistent execution across field and support-office teams. The Manager combines business analysis, process improvement, organizational readiness, SharePoint and digital enablement expertise, and initiative leadership to help move work effectively from business need through implementation and sustainment.

This is an individual-contributor Manager role that independently leads assigned business enablement initiatives and cross-functional workstreams. The Manager works through influence rather than authority, brings structure to ambiguous business problems, develops practical recommendations, drives execution, and escalates material decisions, risks, or resource needs as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Partner with Operations and support-office stakeholders to identify business needs, clarify problems, define measurable outcomes, and establish clear ownership and decision requirements.
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering activities, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, working sessions, and process reviews.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, process, and user requirements using appropriate artifacts such as business requirements documents, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Translate business and operational needs into clear requirements, recommendations, decision points, and execution steps.
  • Identify gaps, conflicting requirements, dependencies, and prioritization needs and facilitate resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Serve as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, usable, and aligned with operational needs and intended outcomes.

Process Mapping & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead documentation and analysis of current-state and future-state operational, support-office, and cross-functional processes using process maps, workflows, swim lane diagrams, and other appropriate methods.
  • Identify root causes, bottlenecks, duplication, handoff issues, risks, and opportunities to simplify or improve execution.
  • Lead process-improvement discussions, root-cause analysis, solution design, and implementation planning.
  • Design practical future-state processes that clarify roles, responsibilities, handoffs, decision points, and expected outcomes.
  • Recommend process standardization, workflow improvements, and appropriate automation opportunities.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for operational feasibility, usability, scalability, field impact, and unintended consequences.
  • Partner with Policy and Documentation Governance to ensure approved processes are appropriately documented, governed, and maintained.

SharePoint & Digital Enablement

  • Create, configure, manage, and continuously improve SharePoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, and resource hubs that support business and organizational priorities.
  • Design intuitive information architecture, navigation, content structures, and digital resources that make information easy to locate, understand, and use.
  • Develop practical digital solutions using SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, and other appropriate tools to improve workflows, collaboration, implementation, and information access.
  • Partner with content, technology, and governance owners to ensure digital resources are accurate, current, accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with established requirements.
  • Use employee feedback and available usage data to improve digital resources, workflows, searchability, and overall user experience.

Business Readiness & Implementation

  • Lead business-readiness, impact, stakeholder, and gap assessments for new processes, systems, tools, and business initiatives.
  • Identify affected audiences, operational impacts, risks, dependencies, readiness requirements, and potential implementation barriers.
  • Develop and coordinate implementation and readiness plans that define required activities, tools, communications, training needs, support, milestones, ownership, and success measures.
  • Assess field and organizational capacity and identify risks associated with timing, sequencing, competing priorities, or operational constraints.
  • Coordinate with Internal Communications, training, Operations, Policy and Documentation Governance, Change Agility, technology, and other functional partners to ensure implementation needs are addressed.
  • Establish mechanisms to gather field and end-user feedback and monitor adoption and implementation effectiveness.
  • Ensure transition to ongoing business ownership is clearly defined, including responsibilities, resources, measures, and sustainment routines.

Initiative & Workstream Leadership

  • Independently lead assigned business enablement initiatives, process-improvement efforts, and cross-functional workstreams from discovery through implementation and sustainment.
  • Establish clear scope, objectives, deliverables, ownership, dependencies, decision points, and success measures.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities, monitor risks and dependencies, and maintain accountability for agreed deliverables and timelines.
  • Coordinate business testing, validation, launch readiness, implementation, issue resolution, and post-implementation follow-up.
  • Provide concise status updates, recommendations, and decision requests to initiative sponsors and leadership.
  • Escalate material risks, resource conflicts, or decisions requiring leadership direction.

Measurement, Insights & Outcomes

  • Define appropriate business, process, implementation, adoption, SharePoint, and operational success measures.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, risks, execution gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop dashboards, initiative updates, executive summaries, presentations, and actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor initiative outcomes against approved objectives and success measures.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and recommend corrective or improvement actions when expected outcomes are not achieved.
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate them into future processes, tools, implementation practices, and operating routines.

Success Outcomes

Success in this role will be demonstrated by:

  • Clear, validated business requirements that support informed decisions, effective solutions, and reduced rework.
  • Well-designed, standardized processes that address root causes, reduce friction, and improve execution.
  • Effective SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions that improve information access, workflows, collaboration, and employee experience.
  • Practical readiness and implementation plans that prepare affected teams for change while considering operational capacity and competing priorities.
  • Successful execution of assigned business enablement initiatives and workstreams against agreed objectives and success measures.
  • Effective transition of implemented solutions into sustainable business ownership and operating routines.
  • Measurable improvements in process effectiveness, usability, adoption, or operational execution.
