The primary role of the Urgent RVT is to perform a variety of duties concerned with general practice and urgent animal care patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under policy direction from the Lead Partner (LP) and the Hospital Manager, the Urgent Technician performs a wide range of difficult to complex tasks including, and not limited to:

· Proficiency in all Veterinary Technician (RVT) duties

· Minimum 1 year experience in urgent cases

· Comfortable and confident running anesthesia on critical cases

· Be a critical thinker and be committed to a positive work environment

· Ensure adherence to policies and procedures in accordance with the company handbook

· Follow proper safety procedures

· Completion and accuracy of patient records, treatment sheets, lab sheets, radiology logs, and laboratory logs

· Compliance with OSHA, DEA, FDA, Bio-Hazard requirements

· Ensure proper housekeeping procedures

**Experience with dental procedures highly desired, but also willing to train the right person**

Essential Qualifications

· Veterinary clinical experience preferred in general practice, specialty or emergency Ability to triage critical patients and proactively demonstrate efficient flow of busy case load

· Must be LVT, RVT, or PVT in Colorado or another state, including licensing or pending license with DORA

· Surgical and anesthesia experience required, sterile technique, emergency surgeries, and knowledge of handling of controlled substances protocols

· Commitment to being part of creating a positive culture

· Understanding and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals

· Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology

· Must be available to work Urgent Care days/hours and be flexible when clinic needs arise

· Excellent communication, ability to work independently, strong technical skills in veterinary procedures, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

· $56,000-$66,000/DOE

Anticipated Schedule

· 4x10 shifts

· TBD as the needs of the team is assessed with Lead Partner and Hospital Manager
