Job Description

Surgery Center of Charleston, a division of Charleston ENT & Allergy, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing ambulatory surgery center team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in providing excellent patient care, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for their scheduled procedures
  • Assist with patient registration and documentation
  • Manage and maintain medical records and patient documentation
  • Support pharmacy-related duties as directed
  • Assist with operating room turnover and room preparation between cases
  • Maintain supplies and inventory throughout the surgery center
  • Support nursing and administrative teams with daily operational needs
  • Ensure compliance with patient privacy, infection control, and safety standards
  • Contribute to a seamless patient experience from check-in through discharge

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
  • Previous healthcare, medical office, or surgery center experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift supplies throughout the workday

This position is Monday through Thursday, 5:45 am to 3:00 pm.
