IS Quality Assurance Analyst

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst will implement and maintain automated and manual test procedures in support of quality assurance processes, application testing, and data analysis of software systems in a combined Unix/Windows environment. They will provide guidance and assistance in defining the proper testing strategy for I.S. projects and maintenance items.  This position works closely with Application Developers to ensure test scripts accurately test project and application requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • QA and Software Testing
    • Assist in planning of new designs and processes for Quality Assurance
    • Assist in writing test scripts, executing test cases and documenting results using tools such as Rational Quality Manager, Tricentis qTest, or HP Quality Center
    • Partner with IS Development and Infrastructure teams to plan performance and load testing activities, develop test cases, develop test scripts and scenarios
    • Analyze test data and identify trends and/or problem areas and their root causes
    • Develop and maintain functional and load test scripts, execute test cases and document test results using tools such as Rational Quality Manager, Tricentis Tosca, HP Load Runner, HP Quick Test Pro,
    • Assist in writing automated test scripts, executing test cases and documenting results using HP Load Runner, HP Quick Test Pro, Selenium and Java
    • Assist in evaluation of new tools
    • Assist in maintaining the QA Test environment toolset and configuration
Skills & Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in software testing, including writing, reviewing, executing test plans and procedures preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience using IT development technologies – some preferred examples are: PHP, MySQL, VBScript, JavaScript and Java is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IS is preferred
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of System Development Lifecycle
  • Must be able to perform GUI related testing activities for format, color and content on a standard 17” Monitor with screen resolution of 1024x768
  • Must be able to stand for 2-3 hrs at a time to perform test case executions
  • Excellent design and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others in team efforts
  • Experience testing with Selenium, AJAX, JBOSS, J2EE and Unix
  • Knowledge of application servers, Web Services, XML and web application Servers
  • Must work within designated normal office hours assigned or required by work
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
