Job Description

A Hiring and Recruitment Coordinator is a Human Resource specialist that assists in the proper staffing of technical positions within Menard’s corporate divisions. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and tenacious enough to keep up with the increasingly competitive Information Systems labor market.  To do this, a Hiring and Recruitment Coordinator meets with members of management and identifies job openings for the Information Systems Team. From there, they seek out well-qualified applicants and encourage them to apply for available positions. A Hiring and Recruitment Coordinator will constantly be utilizing hiring tools, social medias, and other sources to explore and review the best candidates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment and Selection:
    • Coordinate recruiting efforts for all open positions on the Information Systems Teams
    • Attend career fairs and conduct on campus interviews to recruit college graduates and interns
    • Perform phone interviews and phone screens as needed
    • Schedule interviews with respective Hiring Manager(s) and provide insight during the selection process
    • Communicate with Managers regarding the status of candidates under consideration for employment
    • Coordinate completion of TestDome prior to the routing of an offer
    • Coordinate the Summer IS Internship Program, such as program dates, placement, reviews and offers to continue employment
    • Assist in calculating and writing offers of employment
    • Complete offer paperwork and route for approval using Filehold
    • Attend weekly HR Meetings with the Chief Operation Officer and Executive Vice president, weekly IS Directors meetings and bi-weekly meetings with the Chief Information Officer and the HR Manager to review current status of open positions
    • Conduct On the Spot interviews with applicants in the Employment Center and be prepared to discuss different career paths available
    • Outside the box thinking of way to reach candidates. (Speaking with IS students and local colleges, utilizing Social Media, etc.)
    • Conduct Orientations with multiple team members
    • Normal HR Duties (Exit Interviews, Discussing benefits with TM’s, Discipline Meetings)
  • Annual Tasks:
    • Help facilitate the company performance surveys
    • Help coordinate Instant Profit Sharing Meetings for the General Office
    • Assist with seminar prep as needed
  • Other Tasks:
    • Research and stay current of latest Human Resources issues and trends as well as make suggestions to benefit the company, department and Team Members
Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field OR equal value experience in HR or Recruitment.
  • Must be passionate about recruiting and retention and be able to sell the job
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with IS Managers, IS Peers and IS Team Members
  • Knowledge of related laws such as (but not limited to) Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Labor Relations and Civil Rights
  • Must work designated normal office hours, 8AM-5PM
  • Must be willing work overtime as needed
  • Occasional travel required (including air travel)
