Job Description

Winter Seasonal - Anticipated start date Late November/Early December 2021

Under the direction of the store manager, assist in the operations of Cliff Sports, Snowbird Sports, and Creekside Sports, rents ski and snowboard equipment, performs basic tunes, and sells ski accessories, souvenirs, and other retail product. 

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Fits guests for ski and snowboard equipment rental.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Sells ski apparel, accessories, and gear.
  • Performs basic equipment tuning.
  • Operates computerized sales and inventory system.
  • Follows store policies and procedures.
  • Accurately accounts for inventory and payments.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.


  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass ski binding certification prior to start date.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Requires the ability to select appropriate equipment to match guest's rental needs, and then fit the equipment according to procedure.
  • Will perform basic tuning work on ski and snowboard equipment.  
  • Requires the ability and commitment to execute all policies and procedures expected of this position. Will need to carry out those duties whether directly supervised, or not.

Work Schedule

  • Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends and holidays, depending on business levels.
  • Must be available to work any day of the week during the operating hours of 8am to 8pm.

Working Conditions

  • Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
  • Other/Additional:  Advanced or expert skiing/boarding ability preferred.
