Job Description
  • Under supervision, executes, supervises, and documents the field aspects of environmental site assessment and remediation using standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Records data, prepares reports, and provides analysis and interpretations of findings based on scientific experimentation and existing knowledge.
  • Conduct baseline residential water sampling.
  • Assist with baseline water sampling scheduling. 
  • Maintain and calibrate field monitoring equipment.
  • Participates in monitoring well installations and sampling events. 
  • Participates in soil sampling events. 
  • Performs groundwater sampling, gauging and product bailing, and surveying.
  • Completes quarterly groundwater monitoring reports.
  • Performs hydrogeological assessments regarding groundwater flows to identify contamination impact and related concerns.
  • Compiles and completes field notes on each event/site.
  • Researches information relating to identifying geological formations and soil delineation studies and prepares reports and geological maps based on the findings.
  • Participates in the identification of viable remedial solutions consistent with all Federal, state, and local regulations.
  • This position will report into GES’ Hudson, OH office and will primarily support field and office needs for Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia projects. Travel outside of these states may occur from time to time.  
Skills & Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, environmental science or related scientific discipline.
  • 0-4+ years of related experience. Groundwater sampling and baseline sampling experience is a big plus.
  • Ability to work in all weather and for extended periods outdoors, lift up to 40 pounds and walk or stand for long periods on uneven, sloping and varied terrain.  
  • Ability to respond to overnight travel needs from 1 to 4 consecutive nights and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with good interpersonal communication, analytical, organization, and time management skills.
