Position Purpose As Product Owner, Partnerships, you will lead the strategic partnerships for our product management organization for all of Advicent's financial planning products in the North American and Canadian markets that support high-growth objectives and client retention while also increasing the profitability of existing products. What you’re accountable for

  • Maintain an excellent understanding of our most strategic relationships and developing growth plans for each.  Specifically, actively managing the overall relationship within each partnership, keeping current on their business health, the health of the relationship as well as identifying advantageous opportunities for future growth.
  • This includes whitespace vs. green field market expansion opportunities, margin expansion, brand affiliation and GTM planning.
  • Provide financial analysis, long range forecasts and P&L impact of partnerships.
  • Develop a program to evaluate new partnerships that includes alignment to all aspects of our market segmentation strategy, solution offering and growth strategy.
  • This includes identifying, develop and negotiating partnership opportunities in key market segments with the highest impact to enhancing the financial planning experience for our firms, their advisors and ultimately their clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the broader technology providers in the financial planning marketplace.  Working with the platform teams, develop strategies that address competitive threats and 3rd party partnerships.  Lead and support technology partnership relationships.
  • Leverages market research and critical thinking to develop a clear product strategy including target markets, market size, competitive analysis, and pricing model for assigned products.
  • Develops comprehensive business cases to prioritize investments and establish a short and long-term product roadmap that meets those needs.
  • Engage with clients to align product roadmap with client strategies and incorporate product feedback into future roadmap.
  • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, establishing product positioning and occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
  • Successfully launch new products and releases to the market through close collaboration with organizational readiness teams.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product development teams to define product releases and ongoing feature set decisions throughout the development process.  Ensure all development is customer ready and meets targeted needs.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional team members in product management methodologies and best practices.
  • Driving a solution set across teams, primarily Development/Engineering, Business Analysis, Product Marketing and Marketing Communications through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Conduct and/or support ongoing win/loss analysis and exit interviews to better understand requirements for product success.
  • Analyze key performance indicators including sales pipeline, revenue, client retention, and tech support activity to aid in decision making.
  • Represent Advicent as a Product expert at industry tradeshows, conferences and other user group events. 

What skills are required
  • Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, marketing, business, computer science/engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum 3 years in financial planning, financial services or FinTech industries, product management or equivalent experience in related functions like sales or business development.
  • Experience in core product management, including customer analysis, market segmentation, KPI management, operational management and roadmap development is highly desired.
  • Experience with cloud hosted, web and mobile applications.
  • Worked directly with customers/partners in assessing operational strategies and product alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, motivate and build trust within a cross-functional team without formal authority.
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies is desired. 
  • Familiar with Pragmatic Marketing methodologies or other product management frameworks preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, market research capabilities and analytical skills with ability to set and attain goals.
  • Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. Proven ability to build and cultivate positive customer relationships as well as deliver impactful presentations to large and small groups.
  • Some (25%) North America based travel required.
