Position Purpose

The Information Security Analyst at Advicent will apply technical controls and expertise to safeguard company assets and information resources. In this role, you will perform security event monitoring, vulnerability scans, security investigations, and incident response activities. In addition, you will also perform installation, administration, and monitoring of security tools and utilities, and participate in security audits and compliance related activities.

What you’re accountable for
  • Assist in the prevention of security-related threats.
  • Investigate and document suspicious activity and reported security incidents.
  • Administer system, application, and network scans and report on vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain information security software, tools, and utilities such as: Tenable.io, Metaflows, Sumo Logic, Cisco Umbrella, ProofPoint, Wombat, MyEndPoint Protector, SIEM, and more.
  • Prepare security reports for management review.
  • Administer the security awareness training program.
  • Draft corrective action plans and coordinate remediation tasks.
  • Participate in security reviews and audits with customers and external auditors.
  • Respond to security questionnaires and request for proposals.
  • Assist in defining security requirements for information technology projects.
  • Help maintain the company ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification.
  • Assist in the development, control, and revision of security standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, audits, and enhancements
What skills are required
  • A two or four-year degree from an accredited university or college with course work in computer science, information security, management information systems, or a closely related field PLUS at least one year of full-time information security related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to work with minimal oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of information security concepts, standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of data protection policies, procedures, and products.
  • Working knowledge of application & infrastructure security solutions (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection\Prevention Systems, Network Security, Password Management, Data Encryption, Vulnerability Scanners, SIEM Systems, and Access Control)
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain productive in a service-driven and results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to obtain a United States Passport.
  • Certification such as SSCP, CISM, or CISSP is considered a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge with software development processes is a plus.
