Job Description

The Clinical Account Manager will play a key role in the education of HCP offices by providing live or telephonic support and assist in coordination of available resources for patients who have been prescribed the product. The CAM will also be responsible for educating the HCP/staff on the application process and assist with providing insight and education on the distribution options for the product. The CAM will assist HCP/Nurses with initial application training and/or in the coordination of alternate application site logistics for patients. The CAM will train all appropriate office staff that are assigned to apply the patch to patients.  The CAM will follow up with offices at pre-determined intervals during the therapeutic process. In addition, the CAM will conduct educational programs within HCP offices, conduct peer-to-peer educational programs, and provide application site follow up pre and post application within their assigned territory. The CAM will utilize their professional expertise and clinical training skills in the implementation of the education plan.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephonic and live support to HCP staff when they prescribe the medication
  • May coordinate with Home Health Agencies to provide in-home application of the patch if required
  • Accelerate disease state and product awareness with HCP offices and Application Clinic sites
  • Educate staff on both clinical and operational aspects of appropriate patient identification
  • Educate nurses/staff on the clinical profile of products including but not limited to clinical benefits and administration requirements
  • Provide education programs for professional staff, i.e. nurses, other key healthcare staff through 1:1 presentation, round table discussions, formal presentations
  • Coordinate follow up on customer requests with reimbursement support services to identify and work within targeted practices
  • Master all aspects of the clinical and administrative profile of the current treatment landscape
  • Partnering with sales and sales management to profile customer accounts, resolve customer issues, and identify new business opportunities
  • Communicate as required with managers, peers, customer counterparts
  • Educate HCP practices through presentations and in-services
  • Initiate clinical discussions with key personnel in each account (MD (as needed), nurse practitioner, application site coordinators Home Health Agency Nurses, physician’s assistant, clinic nurses).
  • May provide pre and post application follow up via telephone or live support to HCP staff with patients that are undergoing treatment
  • Attend and provide clinical information and/or presentations at national, regional and local meetings
  • Provides staff support, as appropriate at exhibit booths and displays as required
  • Understands and able to assist offices on understanding the reimbursement processes
  • Communicate and directs offices to contacts that can assist with product fulfillment and distribution pathways
  • May be asked to attend clinically relevant meetings for personal/professional development
  • Attends Plan of Action meetings with the company as requested.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Documents all interactions with patients and HCPs on a regular basis
  • Provides relevant information to HCP accounts regarding product information
  • Stays current in clinical developments related to specific disease state
  • Develops and maintains advanced presentation skills to facilitate dissemination of clinical information
  • Checks voice mail and email daily as directed
  • Coordinate escalation of all access challenges to the Field Reimbursement Team

  • Demonstrates sound judgment regarding utilization of time and financial resources, such a travel and entertainment.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to important documents such as fraud and abuse guidelines, FDA guidelines, PhaRMA code, SOPs, and HIPPA guidelines.
  • Conducts all interactions in alignment with the program Rules of Engagement

 

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license required in all states within the territory
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 2+ years of clinical experience
  • 2+ years of Specialty Pharmacy or reimbursement experience preferred
  • Strong consideration given to candidates who have Pain Management and Specialty Pharmacy experience
  • Minimum of two years industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience in introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications a plus
  • Ability to travel locally and overnight 30-35%
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong teamwork abilities
