Job Description

WRT's San Francisco studio is looking for a landscape architect who is a leading designer and project manager and can translate project goals into human-, ecologically-, and socially-responsive outcomes. This position empowers you to lead projects through all phases of design and construction, collaborating with and guiding our skilled team. 

Skills & Requirements

Required Experience / Skills / Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • California Licensure
  • Management + Engagement + Design:
    • Project management
    • Staff management and mentoring
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Public speaking and community/stakeholder engagement
    • Design narrative, report, plan writing
    • Design and construction documentation (public space and campus landscapes)
    • Conceptual phases through construction administration
    • Mastery of AutoCAD, MS, and Adobe software
  • Business Development:
    • Client engagement (trust-building, long-term relationship development)
    • Proactively position for work
    • Help define and lead future work
  • Firm Culture + Development:
    • Contribute to positive studio culture by mentoring other landscape team members.
    • Build on WRT's commitment to climate adaptation and social equity.
    • Create impact by championing an environmental ethos of 'designing with nature' and embracing interdisciplinary collaboration.
    • Take initiative to push our design and technical processes toward excellence.

 Desired Skills:

  • Spanish fluency/proficiency a plus
  • Hand drawing for design development and communication
  • Familiarity with climate adaptation approaches in coastal and inland environments
  • Ecosystem understanding

Compensation & Benefits Include*:

  • The expected pay range for this position is $95K - $115K annually, dependent upon education, skills, experience, skillset
