Job Description

WRT is growing and looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Landscape Designer / Planner to join our studio in San Francisco.

WRT’s accomplished practice in the planning and design of parks, shorelines, and natural open space systems is tackling some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Our work serves communities across the country facing climate risks, lack of equitable access to parks, diminishing wildlands, and urban growth pressures. Project types will include adaptation plans for coastal areas, resilience planning for wildfire and drought, and large-scale planning for open space conservation, and site-specific conceptual design.

We are looking for a landscape and/or planning professional with a passion for these issues and relevant skills to join our collaborative practice! This is a growth opportunity in a practice at the forefront of creating resilient communities.

Skills & Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degrees in landscape architecture and/or city planning.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong and clear graphic, written, and verbal communication.
  • Advanced in technical and graphic software platforms including Adobe CC, ArcGIS analysis tools, and experience with geospatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the intersection of urban social issues such as communities-at-risk, public health, access to open space and green infrastructure system thinking.
  • General understanding of ecosystem functions and threats, across geographies from coastal and estuarine environments to high country and the wildland/urban interface.
  • Interest in sea level rise planning, community engagement, equitable access to parks and open space.
  • Desire to contribute in a collaborative studio environment.

Compensation & Benefits Include*:

  • The expected pay range for this position is $77K - $82K annually, dependent upon education, skills, experience, skillset
