Position Title: Vice President of Human Resources                                                      

Location: Milwaukee, WI                     

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Human Resources provides leadership and works collaboratively to establish the overall strategic Human Resources direction of the business, supporting short term and long term business requirements. Provides leadership and manages the HR activities for Company. Responsible for building effective teams in recruitment, development and retention of team members as well as building and maintaining an engaged team overall. Member of the senior leadership team and interprets the operating results and provides insight and recommendations to drive improved business results.

Position Responsibilities:                                                                                               

·      Develops and implements short and long-term strategic human resources objectives for the business, in line with overall Company strategy

·      Builds strong relationships with the Company leadership team to facilitate open discussion and aid in influencing decision making including setting the business plan and strategy

·      Provides guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound HR management and adherence to company and business values, policy and practices as well as State, Federal and local laws

·      Provides guidance and support at all management levels to ensure consistent and sound safety and environmental management and adherence to company and business values, policies and practices as well as State, Federal and local laws, standards. Including appropriate safety and environmental management systems

·      Advises management of specific obligations imposed by HR standards/regulations and develops/recommends programs that are responsive to these obligations

·      Monitors legislative and regulatory developments, advises on the expected impacts and adjusts compliance programs to meet new/changing requirements

·      Manages employee relations practices in a manner that conforms is consistent with our policies, past practices, protects the culture and maintains a union free environment

·      Fosters a continuous improvement mindset in the HR, Safety and Environmental teams continually improving systems, processes and services

·      Participates in a matrixed Company HR leadership team that helps set HR corporate strategy while giving voice to the priorities and needs of the specific division

·      Identifies, develops, mentors and retains talent within the HR function, motivates and develops capabilities of team members at all levels to cultivate a collaborative and highly engaged work environment

·      Functions as an internal coach to the division’s leadership and management teams, peers and others in identifying and resolving issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions, and balancing the business and employee perspectives.

·      Partners to develop and implements talent and workforce plans to meet division’s strategic needs

·      Develops and implements training programs that satisfy identified the divisions strategic employee developmental requirements

·      Manages wage/salary administration process, performance review process, and benefits administration

·      Actively partners with the business to ensure the ongoing evaluation and development of the team members and organizational positioning for future growth; coordinates employee programs with the business to develop an engaged, trained and motivated work force

·      Ensures overall HR budgets are prepared and managed to meet the business plan

·      Analyze, develop and recommends capital projects that support the annual Business Plan and long term direction of the business

·      Improving engagement, safety, quality, productivity, cost and environmental standards in the face of ever-increasing customer demands, in a growing business

·      Influencing and leading managers in developing high performing engaged employees across the division.

·      Successfully negotiating conflict while maintaining constructive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization

·      The ability to balance the needs of the corporation with the needs of the division in terms of:

3.    Balance between sometimes competing priorities

4.    To earn credibility within the culture so that you can lead

Requirements: 

  • MBA or MS in Human Resources, SPHR/PHR certification
