Job Description

The Associate Technology and Innovation Coordinator supports the integration of technology across the school to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency. This role collaborates with the Director of Technology and Innovation and Technology and Innovation Coordinators to implement school-wide projects, provide technical support, and facilitate professional development for faculty and staff. This position plays a vital role in evaluating the impact of digital tools, staying informed about emerging educational technologies, and contributing to the development of SAS's future technology vision. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and user engagement, the Associate Technology and Innovation Coordinator ensures that technology is seamlessly integrated into the school’s educational and operational practices to meet the evolving needs of the SAS community.

This position is a 2-year initial contract supporting the Campus Upgrade Project.

The specific roles and responsibilities are subject to change and evolve and may include but not be limited to any of the following areas:

MS Project Support

  • Collaborate with the MS Technology and Innovation Coordinator on MS (& school-wide) projects, assisting in the development, testing, and rollout of new initiatives in both the MS, and those that span divisions.
  • Take an active role in evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness and impact of educational technology tools and resources, using data to make informed recommendations for tool adoption, modification, or replacement.
  • Serve as an active member of committees and focus groups, such as the Learning Management System (LMS) software review project, EdTech visioning team, or groups investigating the role and application of AI in education.
  • Contribute to the development of SAS’s future technology vision by providing insights and recommendations based on trends, needs, and emerging best practices.

Technology Integration and Collaboration

  • Assist the Technology and Innovation Coordinators (TIC) to implement the delivery, maintenance and development of the MS’s 1:1 laptop program, including the instruction of classes/small groups
  • Partner with the TIC to support the integration of technology in classroom activities, contributing to personalized learning, inquiry-based projects, and interdisciplinary units.
  • Partner with the TIC and MakerSpace Coordinator to provide ongoing support to students, and assist in the continued development of the MakerSpace facility and program.
  • Assist teachers and staff in effectively using technology to design meaningful learning experiences, addressing diverse needs and goals.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in educational technologies (e.g., AI, AR/VR, others) and share insights with the school community.
  • Collaborate with divisional teams to pilot new technologies, assess their potential impact, and recommend strategies for broader adoption where appropriate.
  • Act as a resource to identify and troubleshoot technical challenges that arise during instructional planning or implementation.

Professional Development and Training

  • Support the planning and facilitation of training sessions and workshops on digital tools, data systems, and emerging technologies, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of the SAS community.
  • Assist with the orientation and onboarding process for faculty and staff to ensure proficiency with SAS’s technology resources, systems, and policies.
  • Provide personalized support to teachers, staff, and students on effectively leveraging technology for instructional and operational purposes.
  • Help design resources, such as how-to guides, tutorials, and FAQs, to support professional learning and foster self-sufficiency among users.
 

Skills & Requirements

Relevant Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, IT, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior teaching and/or adult education experience highly desirable.
  • Education Technology certifications (e.g., Google Certified Educator) highly desirable.
  • Experience in educational technology support or an instructional technology role, with strong customer-service orientation and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Google Apps, Mac OS, and digital tools commonly used in education, with the ability and willingness to learn new applications.
