Burger Physical Therapy has provided therapy services since 1978. We currently seek an exceptional State Board Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team.
We seek a Physical Therapist Assistant to work 1-5 days per week, preferably Thursdays and Fridays. We can work around your schedule to accommodate you with hours that fit your needs!
The Grass Valley Clinic is small but the team is BIG and ready to welcome you, as a Physical Therapist Assistant new graduate or seasoned clinician!
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Take direction from the Registered Physical Therapist.
2. Under physician’s orders, treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and
maintain an optimal performance using such physical means as heat, water, electricity, light,
massage, etc.
3. Aid and direct patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re- education, gait and
functional training, activities of daily living and prosthetic training.
4. Give whirlpool and contrast baths, or apply moist heat.
5. Apply intermittent traction, ultra-sound, short wave diathery, etc.
6. Instruct patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, walkers, braces, canes, crutches
and prosthetic and orthotic devices.
7. Observe, record and report patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the
patient’s condition.
8. Serve as a member of the patient care team.
9. Record a progress note in the patient’s medical record for each visit whether
out-patient, home or convalescent hospital patient.
10. The Physical Therapist Assistant is at all times under the supervision of a Licensed
Physical Therapist in compliance with Statute laws and regulations, and Burger policies and
procedures. The Physical Therapy Assistant shall at no time perform evaluations or change a
patient’s treatment program. These activities will be referred to the supervising therapist.
11. The Physical Therapist Assistant also participates in educational programs to improve
his/her therapy skills.
