Job Description

A full-time Counselor position is now available with Liberty Behavioral Health Corporation and the Indiana Sex Offender Management and Monitoring Program (INSOMM Program).

The INSOMM Program is an innovative system which invites collaboration between public and private sector groups across the state of Indiana with the goal of reducing sexual violence and sex offenses.

The INSOMM Program provides special treatment programming to adult and juvenile sex offenders committed to the Indiana Department of Correction. Additionally, the INSOMM Program utilizes a Containment Model to provide maximum protection to the public while sex offenders are under parole supervision in the community.

As a Counselor with Liberty, your role will be to help juveniles achieve awareness about the adverse impact of sexual abuse and build skills to discontinue abusive behaviors – which ultimately will enhance community safety.

Day-to-day, you will evaluate, monitor, counsel and provide psycho-educational services in-person to incarcerated juvenile adult sex offender inmates onsite at the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility in Pendleton, Indiana – located about 30 minutes northeast of Indianapolis.

Skills & Requirements

You’re a good fit for this position if you have a Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work or Psychology.

Professional licensure in one of the aforementioned fields is preferred, however not required. Eligibility to become licensed within 12 months is acceptable.

Prior experience in forensic mental health and/or sexual offender counseling is helpful, however not required – on the job training will be provided. New grads are welcome.
