LCSWs and LMFTs are encouraged to consider an available full-time Mental Health Clinician position with Liberty Healthcare.

Liberty Healthcare operates a specialized forensic mental health program within the West Valley Detention Center – a county jail operated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff.

This program provides high quality assessment and treatment services to adults who are justice involved, experiencing mental illness, and deemed incompetent to stand trial.

As a Mental Health Clinician with Liberty Healthcare’s program, your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing psychosocial evaluations on newly admitted patients
  • Providing cognitive-behavioral treatment and psychoeducation to individuals and groups
  • Serving as a case lead to assigned patients
  • Contributing to individualized treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proactively contacting family and collateral contacts when appropriate for the purposes of evaluation and treatment

This position requires you to work in-person and onsite at the West Valley Detention Facility. You have the option to work a traditional workweek with five 8-hour days or compressed workweek with four 10-hour days.

As a full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare in this role, you can expect:

  • Starting pay between $83,000 and $93,000 (depending on qualifications)

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed professionally in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have experience assessing and counseling adults who are experiencing mental illness.

Experience serving people who are justice-involved is helpful, but not required.
