A full-time Human Services Treatment Specialist position is now available with Liberty Healthcare at the Laura Dester Center in Tulsa, OK.

The Dester Center is a 25-bed intermediate care facility which provides specialized short-term residential treatment services to children and adolescents who are living with developmental disabilities.

The Dester Center endeavors to help each individual build lifelong skills so they may achieve and maintain good health, well-being, and independence in the community.

This is a challenging position which will require you to work directly with children and adolescents who have developmental disabilities, mental illness and behavioral challenges.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing programs to help clients meet their goals
  • Assessing and monitoring client behaviors through first-hand observation
  • Teaching and Instructing staff and clients
  • Providing training and instruction to "direct care" staff
  • Collaborating with licensed clinicians and ancillary professionals
  • Actively contributing in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Providing direct services and face-to-face care to children and adolescents
  • Ensuring clients are very well cared for and safe at all times
  • Providing appropriate interventions as necessary, when clients are at risk
  • Assisting clients with their activities of daily living – and helping them build related skills 
  • Helping to clients to build pro-social skills, which will foster their independence and good health
  • Successfully completing Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medication Aide training programs, which will be provided by Liberty

As a full-time employee of Liberty in this role, you can expect:

  • Starting pay of $26.34 per hour (approximately $54,787 annually)

Skills & Requirements

You're a good fit for this position if you possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, Special Education - or other health or human services field
  • At least one year of professional experience supporting people who are living with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Experience providing behavioral support to children and adolescents is highly valued.
