Liberty Healthcare is now accepting applications for a newly created Assistant Director position with our multi-site forensic mental health program in California.

This program exclusively serves justice-involved adults who are experiencing mental illness and have recently been determined to be incompetent to stand trial.

The goal of this program is to provide rapid mental health services to people in need - so they may achieve improved behavioral health outcomes as quickly as possible.

Services are provided onsite at several county jails in San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, and San Mateo Counties.

As Liberty Healthcare’s Assistant Director, you will enjoy an array of responsibilities, including:

  • Supporting the program’s Executive Director
  • Ensuring clinical services are consistent with best practices
  • Participating in various quality assurance and compliance initiatives
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders at County and State agencies
  • Assisting with payroll and human resources activities 
  • Analyzing data and generating management reports
  • Assisting with the hiring, evaluation, management and training of staff

This is a hybrid role in which you will partially work remotely from your home office and partially work onsite at service locations in San Bernardino and Riverside (at least one day weekly at each location), with periodic travel to service locations in San Mateo and San Diego Counties.

As a full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare in this role, you can expect:

  • Starting pay between $130,000 and $145,000 (depending on qualifications)

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this role if you possess the following:

  • Professional licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Clinical Psychologist
  • At least two years of forensic mental health / correctional mental health experience
  • Knowledge of best practices in the treatment of people who are experiencing serious mental illness
  • Successful track record of leading mental health programs
  • Prior supervisory / management experience
