New and recent grads are encouraged to begin their career as a full-time Investigator / Caseworker with Liberty Healthcare and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services Program.
This mission of this program is to investigate reports of need, and if substantiated, mitigate or eliminate imminent risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment for adults who are living with disabilities.
Your day-to-day work will involve traveling throughout the region, conducting investigations in residences, determining if reports are substantiated, documenting findings, developing plans, and managing active cases.
Starting pay is approximately $46,000 per year, which is paid $22.12 per hour. Opportunities are also occasionally available to earn additional income by working optional overtime and taking on additional cases. You will also be eligible for biannual performance bonuses of $750.
This position will require you to travel primarily in either Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin or Centre County (depending on your location), and if necessary into the immediately surrounding counties.
You must have your own vehicle. Work-related mileage and toll expenses are reimbursed.
This is challenging work that comes with a high degree of autonomy. You can expect a flexible work schedule which will include occasional evening hours.
You will earn 30 days of paid time off annually which you may use for holidays, vacation, personal time, and sick leave. Other benefits are also offered. Adult Protective Services training and Investigator certification is provided to new hires.
