A full-time Counselor position is available with Liberty Healthcare and the Indiana Sex Offender Management and Monitoring Program.

The mission of the Indiana Sex Offender Management and Monitoring Program is to promote public safety by reducing recidivism in convicted adult and adjudicated juvenile sexual offenders.

As a Counselor with Liberty, you will have the opportunity to help a significant number of juveniles improve their behavioral health, prevent sexual abuse and victimization, and enhance safety in your community.

Your day-to-day work will involve providing in-person behavioral health services to adjudicated juvenile sex offenders onsite at the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility in Pendleton, IN. 

This position offers an outstanding work / life balance with a 4-day work week and set schedule, Tuesdays through Fridays from 8am to 6pm.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clients with information about the program
  • Evaluating clients to determine changes in risk level, progress in treatment, and overall motivation for participation in the program
  • Monitoring clients for psychosexual, mental health and behavioral health problems
  • Performing risk evaluations within the scope of licensure
  • Facilitating sex offender treatment and psycho-educational group sessions, based on the program’s curriculum
  • Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and training activities  
  • Providing consultation to program and security staff
  • Documenting client progress notes, writing reports and compiling utilization statistics

Skills & Requirements

To qualify for this position, you should have one of the following professional licenses or be able to obtain licensure within the next 24 months:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP)

Relevant experience is helpful but not required.
