Due to anticipated organizational growth, Liberty Healthcare seeks qualified candidates for a potential new Director position which will be responsible for establishing and leading a new forensic mental health serving people who are justice-involved and experiencing mental illness.  

The program will endeavor to expeditiously deliver court-mandated forensic assessments, psychiatric stabilization, and restoration of competency to individuals detained in a county jail located in Quincy, Florida (nearby Tallahassee).

This program will be based on Liberty Healthcare’s award-winning model and rooted in best practices person-centered care and forensic mental health.

As Liberty Healthcare’s Director, you will enjoy a mix of clinical and leadership responsibilities, including:

  • Leading a “start-up” initiative to establish a new jail-based forensic mental health program
  • Hiring, training, and leading a team of clinical and ancillary professionals
  • Establishing an outcomes-focused program and high-performance culture
  • Ensuring program clients receive high-quality mental health services and person-centered care
  • Providing direct clinical services to program clients 
  • Liaising with an array of stakeholders within law enforcement agencies, county courts, criminal justice departments, and public health agencies

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this position if you have a successful track record of leading programs serving people who are justice-involved and experiencing mental illness.

You should be well-versed in best practices in the forensic mental health field and be knowledgeable of effective treatment approaches for people who are incompetent to stand trial.

A professional license in Florida as a Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is required.
