Psychologists are encouraged to consider an available full-time position with Liberty Healthcare at the Delaware Psychiatric Center.

The Delaware Psychiatric Center provides a wide array of inpatient and integrated services to adults who are experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.

As a Psychologist at the Delaware Psychiatric Center, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the mental health and wellbeing of many people. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing clients using a variety of psychological tests to measure and evaluate intelligence, cognitive abilities, interest, personality, and mental attributes
  • Interviewing and observing clients
  • Formulating diagnoses
  • Developing and implementing strengths-based recovery plans
  • Actively participating in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Collaborating with medical, clinical and ancillary professionals
  • Documenting services and client developments in an electronic medical record system
  • Preparing clients for a successful transition into the community
  • Keeping abreast of best practices in the field of Psychology

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed (or license-eligible) as a Psychologist in Delaware and have a genuine interest in serving and supporting adults who are experiencing mental illness.

Located in New Castle about 15 minutes south of Wilmington, the Delaware Psychiatric Center is easily accessible via I-95, I-295 and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Several Psychologists and other clinical professionals work at the Delaware Psychiatric Center through a collaborative partnership with Liberty Healthcare.
