Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists are encouraged to consider an available part-time / as needed Clinician position with Liberty Healthcare’s forensic mental health program in San Diego County.
This program exclusively serves adults who are justice-involved, experiencing mental illness, and have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial.
The goal of this cutting-edge program is to facilitate early access to mental health services, provide rapid stabilization, and restore people to competency efficiently and effectively.
Services are provided to jail inmates onsite at the George Bailey Detention Facility nearby Otay Mesa and the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee, CA.
As a Clinician, your role will involve:
- Providing services to program clients one-to-one, in-person, and onsite at the jail facility
- Conducting psychosocial and risk assessments
- Providing brief treatment primarily focused on symptom management, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention
- Supporting clients with competency restoration training and education
- Documenting services and client status in Liberty’s electronic health record system
- Participating in treatment team and other meetings
- Collaborating with clinical, ancillary and security staff
This is an “as needed” position offering occasional work in times of peak program utilization and when coverage is needed for staff who are on vacation or other leave.
You can be expected to be paid $50.00 per hour.
